Lineups
Line-ups
Plan the starting formation for a game by picking a player for each position of your sport, section by section, then share the finished line-up in your team chat.
What this covers
Every event marked as a Game has a Line-up card in its details tab. Opening it gives you a simple editor: a vertical list of your sport's position sections (for example defence and midfield), each showing its positions in order. There's no pitch board and no drag-and-drop — you just tap to add a player to a slot or clear one. Each position holds one player. When the line-up is ready you can post it to the team chat, where team-mates open it as a read-only card.
The sections and positions you see are set by your team's sport, which is chosen when the team is created and can be changed later in Team settings.
Open the line-up for a game
Line-ups live on Game events, so start from the event itself:
- Open a Game event and scroll to the Line-up card in the details tab.
- Tap Show line-up. The line-up opens in the editor — if this is the first time it's been opened, an empty one is created for you automatically.
Build your line-up
On the Lineup screen you'll see each section with its positions listed underneath. To fill a position:
- Find the position inside its section and tap the plus icon next to it.
- The Select player sheet opens, listing your team members alphabetically with a Search member field at the top.
- Tap a member. The sheet closes and their avatar and first name appear on that position.
To free a slot again, tap the red minus icon next to the assigned player — the position goes back to empty.
Each position shows a single player. To swap someone out, clear the slot with the minus icon first, then add the new player.
Share and view in team chat
Once the line-up is ready, get it in front of the squad:
- Tap Share Line-Up in Team Chat at the top of the Lineup screen. The line-up is posted as a chat message and the app jumps to your team chat.
- Team-mates see a card showing the linked game with a View Lineup button. Tapping it opens a read-only view — any positions still empty show as Open.
- Need to make a change? The read-only view has an Edit Lineup button that reopens the full editor.
Sharing always posts to your team chat, never to a direct message.
Who can use line-ups
Line-ups are open to everyone on the team. Any member, trainer or admin can open the Line-up card on a game, add and remove players, and share the line-up to chat — including editing one that's already been shared. There's no separate role or permission to set up.
Good to know
- If your sport doesn't have any positions set up yet, the line-up screen shows a Come back soon! message instead of an editor.
- Positions come from your team's sport, so changing the sport in Team settings changes which sections and positions appear.
- A shared line-up stays linked to its game, so opening it later from chat always shows the latest version.
