Notifications & activity

ClubMeister keeps you in the loop with push notifications, unread badges, per-chat mute switches, and an Activity feed of everything happening in your team.

What this covers

ClubMeister sends push notifications so you hear about new team posts and comments without opening the app. Unread counts show up as badges on the Chats, Posts and Members tabs (and on your iPhone app icon), and every chat can be muted on its own. The Activity tab shows a running feed of recent team happenings — new members joining, birthdays and event changes. This guide explains each of these.

Push notifications are delivered on the phone apps (App Store / Google Play). The browser version at admin.clubmeister.app doesn't send push notifications, so use the app if you want to be pinged.

The Activity tab

The Activity feed is a quick way to catch up on what your team has been up to. Everyone on the team can see it — there's no special role needed.

  1. Open the Activity tab — it's the 5th item in the bottom navigation on the phone, or Activity in the sidebar on the web.
  2. You'll see the 10 most recent happenings for your current team. Each row shows who it was about (their photo and name), what happened (for example, "joined! 🎉"), any extra detail, where it came from, and how long ago it was.
  3. Tap a row about an event to jump straight to that event's page. Tap a birthday row to open that member's profile.

If nothing has happened yet, you'll simply see "No activity yet". The feed always shows the team you're currently in — switch teams and you'll see that team's activity instead.

Turn on push notifications

The first time you open ClubMeister on a new phone, it needs your permission to send notifications.

  1. On the Home screen, a sheet titled Stay up to date! appears with the message "In order to notify you on new messages, events or posts, we need your permission."
  2. Tap Continue to bring up your phone's permission dialog, then choose Allow. Your device is now linked to your account and ready to receive notifications.
  3. If you tap Close instead, the sheet just goes away for now — it may pop up again in a later session until you make a choice with Continue.

You currently get a push for new posts ("New Post 📬") and new comments on a post you're following ("New comment 💬"). Tapping the notification takes you straight to that post.

Unread badges

Badges are the little number bubbles that tell you how much is waiting for you, so you can see at a glance where to look.

  • The Chats tab shows how many unread messages you have across your chats.
  • The Posts tab shows posts you haven't seen yet.
  • The Members tab shows people waiting to be approved into the team.
  • On iPhone, your app icon also carries a badge that combines your unread chats and posts. Pending members show up inside the app but not on the app icon.

Mute a chat

If a particular chat is too noisy, you can silence its notifications without leaving it.

  1. Open the chat and tap the bell icon in the header. (Admins can also use the Notifications: On/Off pill in the chat's summary screen.)
  2. A short message confirms your choice — "Notifications muted for this chat" or "Notifications enabled for this chat".

Muting only affects you — the rest of the chat still gets notified as normal. Tap the bell again any time to turn notifications back on.

Fix push notifications

Not getting notifications when you expect them? Your Account page has tools to sort it out.

  • In the Notifications section, the Push notifications toggle ("Event invites, chats and posts") lets you re-request permission if it was switched off.
  • Under Debug, Enable push notifications simply asks your phone for permission again.
  • Also under Debug, Fix push notifications runs a full repair: it checks your current status, re-registers your device, and then shows a Notification Status dialog with the result. Use this if notifications have stopped arriving.

If notifications still don't show, double-check that they're allowed for ClubMeister in your phone's own Settings app, then run Fix push notifications once more.
